Abstract

Osteochondroma is the commonest benign tumour of bone. Vascular complications are rare, but compression, 1 thromboembolism, arteriovenous fistulae, 2 and pseudo-aneurysm formation have been described. Pseudo-aneurysms secondary to osteochondroma have been reported in brachial, femoral, and popliteal arteries. 3 We present the first reported case of traumatic rupture of a popliteal artery pseudo-aneurysm by a parachute jump. No case of popliteal pseudoaneurysm rupture secondary to osteochondroma has previously been reported.
