Abstract
The basic idea behind the creation of this article, was to extend the capabilities of airports for VFR night traffic by modern lighting system. Existing systems at small airports are usually outdated and do not fulfill their purpose sufficiently. Available existing modern systems have characteristics different from our defined parameters. These facts were confirmed by the analysis carried out.The aim of the study was to design parameters of the mobile light system for RWY, primarily for so-called non-instrument runway in civil aviation. The light system thus designed will be intended primarily to smaller airports that are not normally equipped with such systems. This device will also be useful in situations where it is necessary to set up a path in non-standard conditions without sufficient infrastructure necessary for the installation of stationary light systems, or as a backup system. The technology will be based on innovative LED light sources, with lower energy and operational demands - according the legislative requirements of civil aviation.
