Abstract
A run-length limited (RLL) code for high density optical storage systems is proposed. The minimum and maximum run-length constraints are d = 3 and k = 11, respectively. The code rate is 2/5, and the resulting density ratio is 1.6, which is larger than that of eight-to-fourteen (EFM) and EFMPlus codes.
