Abstract

The vehicle inspection sector has assumed a fundamental role in the safety of the vehicles that circulate on our roads every day, blocking unroadworthy vehicles until they are repaired (when possible) and hindering the work of gangs specialized in theft and robbery of vehicles. Its implantation is given by operation authorizations issued by the DETRAN of each state and is subject to meet the pre-established legislation. However, there is no study on the viability and health of these companies and the possible existence of the ruinous competition phenomenon. Thus, the present work aims to present a study made with 36 of the 44 accredited inspection companies (ECV) of Rondônia with the purpose of measuring the economic and operational viability in the operation of these companies, giving subsidies not only to the inspection agency, but also to the companies of the sector to remain competitive, financially healthy, as well as allowing them to provide a quality service to the citizens.
