Abstract
X-ray absorption at the Ru L3 has been used to study the adsorption of Ru3(CO)12 on Cu(100) surface and the subsequent formation of Ru-Cu bimetallic aggregates. The analysis of the Ru L3 edge reveals that Ru gains appreciable d character upon the formation of the bimetallics.
