Abstract

Development of antenna sensors is attractive for environment monitoring due to widely distributed readout devices, such as smartphones, tablets, etc. However, the remaining challenge is how to realize quantitative detection of a designated concentration of analyte. Herein, we present a scheme using received signal strength indicator (RSSI) for quantitative power-oriented sensing based on an omnidirectional antenna sensor. The bluetooth-enabled antenna sensor was made by mechanical abrasion of a 2B pencil to form a stripe of graphitic coating on a printed silver dipole antenna. The RSSI evaluation model was used to acquire different concentration levels of humidity. The experimental results are consistent with the simulation outcomes.
