Abstract
This investigation explores the characteristics of cold three-dimensional (3-D) wall jets using Reynolds stress model (RSM) predictions and full-scale measurements. Two different versions of pressure-strain models, i.e., the quadratic and the linear pressure-strain models, have been applied to evaluate the behaviour of cold wall jets. Some deviations were detected between the quadratic and the linear pressure-strain models. It was found that the linear model predicted higher values on the lateral spreading rate and also higher values on the turbulent quantities. The quadratic model predicted values on the turbulent variables with closer agreement to the measurements than the linear model.
