Abstract

The aim of the article is to present legal solutions that provide for remote hearings of civil cases, which were in fact brought on by the need to hear cases during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. It were the conditions prevailing at that time and virus transmission through human-to-human contact that forced and accelerated digitization of courts, thus enabling hearings and meetings to be conducted by videoconference. The temporal nature of these solutions further supported by positive practical data resulted in the introduction of remote court hearings permanently into the Code of Civil Procedure. The article presents the author’s own research in this area from the beginning of the introduction of the aforementioned legal solutions up to the last reporting period in all courts in the Rzeszów appellate area.
