Abstract

One thousand eight hundred and ten prenatal patients were screened for atypical antibodies using pooled reagent red cells. †o(D). These potentially dangerous antibodies would not have been recognized by older “classic” procedures still routinely requested of and employed at many hospital laboratories. The value of screening all prenatal patients for atypical antibodies regardless of past history, parity, or Rh type is emphasized.
