Abstract

Two x-ray beams diverging at a 34 degree angle are obtained by synchronous arc rotation of a microfocus x-ray tube for stereoscopic magnification angiography. Two such x-ray tubes and two opposing Puck film changers are mounted on a gantry. Biplane cerebral angiography in stereoscopic magnification is performed with the fastest speed of 1.5 films/second and a 2.0 to 2.2 magnification factor. This technique combines the usefulness of magnification and stereoscopic angiography. The advantages and limitations of this method are described with the use of experimental and clinical data.
