Abstract

This discussion took place June 25, 1985, during AWWA's annual conference in Washington, D. C. Philip C. Singer, professor in the department of environmental sciences and engineering. University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, moderated the panel and also assisted with editing the transcript. Other participants were: François Fiessinger, director of the central laboratory of the Lyonnaise des Eaux, Le Pecq, France; Wilfred LePage, superintendent of water treatment for the city of Monroe, Mich.; Paul W. Prendiville, senior vice‐president of Camp Dresser & McKee, Boston, Mass.; Rip G. Rice, president of Rip G. Rice Inc., Ashton, Md.; Heinrich Sontheimer, professor at the University of Karlsruhe, West Germany; and Alexander J. Varas, associate with Hazen and Sawyer, New York City.
