Abstract

In this paper, we propose a round robin differential quadrature phase shift quantum key distribution by using one decoy state and odd coherent states (RRDQPS-QKD-OCS). By comparing existing RRDPS-QKD and RRDQPS-QKD, our proposed protocol, RRDQPS-QKD-OCS, has an outstanding performance, where not only the key generation rate is much larger but also the maximum transmission distance is much longer. Additionally, a one decoy state method is sufficient for RRDQPS-QKD-OCS to be close to the asymptotic limit performance with RRDQPS-QKD-OCS by using infinite decoy states.
