Abstract

: Although round pneumonia is a well-known entity in children, it is uncommon in adults; 1% of pneumonia being round lesions. Indeed, less than 1% of coin lesions in an adult chest radiograph correspond to round pneumonia. Usually, round pneumonia mimics pulmonary or mediastinal masses; therefore, a broad differential diagnosis should be considered. The aim of this communication is to report 2 cases of round pneumonia in adults (one of them resulting from Chlamydia psittaci), its radiographic presentation, evolution, and outcome. A review of the literature on this subject is also included.
