Abstract

Rounding of peaks of nystagmus, calorically and/or optokinetically (OPK) induced, is an interesting phenomenon. No significant topognostic value has been attributed to it. It is proposed in this paper that this pattern is suggestive of a partial lesion of the nystagmogenic area (NA) involving the quick-discharging neuronal units of the lower reticular core.
