Abstract

CONCLUSION: Despite a standardized resuscitation protocol there were disparate outcomes in this uniform pig population. Although survivors did not have significantly greater pressures or flows during CPR than non-survivors, they did have a greater correlation between carotid flow and brain oxygenation suggesting better local auto-regulation or regional distribution of flow in survivors. This promotes the idea that factors other than thoracic compression strength are important in generating brain oxygen delivery. HSF
