Abstract

The data of Wilson on the Ca H-K flux variations of main-sequence stars have been analyzed for periodicities by an autocorrelation technique which can be successfully employed with the sparse and quasi-periodic sampling schedule used to take the data. Rotational periods are determined for 10 stars. When the rotational frequencies are plotted versus spectral type for these stars and the sun, the results are generally consistent with a rule relating degree and type of chromospheric activity to rotation, postulated on the basis of previous data.
