Abstract

The anodic behaviour of tin in neutral phosphate solution has been investigated by means of a rotating disc and ring disc electrode. During the anodic reaction on the disc, a cathodic current is observed on the ring resulting from the reduction of soluble species produced on the disc at low potential and of oxygen at high potential. The low ring-disc current ratio is due to the formation of insoluble product.
