Abstract

With reference to the beautiful tribute to Rosalind Franklin, written by Anne Piper, that appeared in the April issue of TiBS (TiBS 23, 151–154), I should like to bring to your attention the fact that the `unknown' photographer, who took the photograph shown in Fig. 1, was in fact Vittorio Luzzati. The photograph, which is of Rosalind Franklin on a walking trip in France in 1950 or 1951, appears in the book by Horace Freeland Judson entitled The Eighth Day of Creation, which was published in 1979 by Simon and Schuster.
