Abstract
THE STAGE where I stood during my presidential speech was built nearly 30 years ago when the first visionary board of ASPAN directors met in Orlando, Florida. Twenty-eight dedicated and passionate leaders followed to stand there before me. Each brought to the podium the core values of this Society—integrity, respect, diversity, stewardship, mentorship, passion, community, and advocacy. These leaders have brought to life the dreams of many. They created the enduring legacies of our journey. It is with honor and gratitude to them that I am here now in their gigantic shadow, ready to serve ASPAN as your principal representative and spokesperson.
