Abstract

Townsend's Big-eared Bats (Corynorhinus townsendii) have a broad distribution, extending from southern Mexico through the western United States into southern British Columbia, and are considered rare throughout their North American range (Fellers and Pierson 2002). In British Columbia, C. townsendii are restricted to warm valleys of the south and coastal regions (Blood and others 1998) of BC. Provincially, C. townsendii is considered a species of special concern (blue-listed) by the BC Conservation Data Centre.
