Abstract

Romania is characterized by a great wealth of karst forms. The most important are bound to several regions, and namely: the Apuseni Mts., South Carpathians, Eastern Carpathians, Dobrogea. Most of the caves should be included in the List of protected natural sites, and some of them are of interest as a part of the World Geological Heritage.
