Abstract

This article begins with a review of what existentialists recommend regarding responsible uses of communication. It then examines the notion of decorum as defined in the Roman rhetorical system. These systems are then integrated to overcome practical deficiencies in existential communication. The study concludes with two illustrations. The first demonstrates the importance of decorum to existential dialogues. The second demonstrates that decorum can help convey existential messages to mass audiences.
