Abstract
Pellet plants equipped with drum pelletizers screen raw pellets on vibrating screens, and some of the pellets are destroyed in the process. The undersize contains a considerable quantity of standard-size pellets. Moreover, the vibrating screens are one of the limiting factors with respect to increasing the productivity of the pelletizers, a fact which is particularly evident when the charge contains a large amount of moisture~ Thus, the Poltava Mining and Concentration Combine (MCC) has tested a prototype roller screen -the first in domestic practice (Fig. i). The screen was designed by the "Mekhanobchermet" institute and installed in place of a vibrating screen made by the Allis Chalmers Company. The specifications of the screens are as follows:
