Abstract

This chapter is an attempt to explore the role of the university ecosystem and entrepreneurial self-efficacy in shaping entrepreneurial intention of students of higher education institutions in India. The study is empirical in nature and is based on a survey conducted among the students of a private university in India. The causal research design approach was used to explore the causal relationship among dependent and independent variable. Data was collected through a structured questionnaire, and correlation and regression analysis were performed to explore the nature of relationship among the independent and dependent variables. The major finding of this study is that both the independent variables (university entrepreneurial ecosystem and entrepreneurial self-efficacy) have been found to significantly affect the dependent variable (entrepreneurial intention). Further, entrepreneurial self-efficacy has been to be a more influencing factor than the university entrepreneurial ecosystem.
