Abstract

We study the proton-neutron correlation in N − Z nuclei using a core+p+n model. Due to the difference of possible couplings for the valence proton and neutron, the T = 0 channel becomes strong for 18F and 58Cu and weak for 42Sc. In order to understand the nuclear dependence on the level ordering of the 1+ and 0+ states, we introduce the tensor force between the valence neutron and proton, and it is shown that the tensor force plays an essential role to reproduce the level ordering for 18F, 42Sc and 58Cu.
