Abstract
Background: FICE (Fujinon EG 590 ZW, EPX 4400) is a new technology that offers a Digital Signal Processing (DSP) developed to mimic chromo-endoscopy and high resolution imaging. FICE improves quality of endoscopic images and enhances the visualization of the mucosal pattern thanks to the opportunity to switch from the standard view to 10 different spectral combinations of DSP. Endoscopy plays a key role in the management of patients with history of malabsorption. Improvement of duodenal villous pattern visualization can increase the diagnostic accuracy of endoscopy and correctly drive biopsies sampling when CD is suspected.
