Abstract

In-plane transport in magnetic multilayers is considered theoretically within the quasi-classical approach with coherent spin-mixing processes taken into account. Such processes lead to a decrease of the giant magnetoresistance. Scattering by interfaces and surfaces is taken into account by appropriate spin-dependent boundary conditions.
