Abstract

We present an approach to the thermal magnetic properties of itinerant electron ferromagnets that takes account of spin and phonon fluctuations simultaneously. The comparison of both fluctuation contributions is given in the case of the Invar alloy Fe 0.65Ni 0.35. For this alloy we demonstrate the necessity of taking into account the changes due to the magnetization not only of the bulk modulus but also of the shear modulus in the description of phonon fluctuations and also the possibility of the description of spin fluctuations in the frame of the paramagnon model of a weak itinerant ferromagnet.
