Abstract

Six taste additives - egg yolk, egg shell, sheep blood, chicken blood, yeast and minced meat―were incorporated 2% by weight individually in a bait base of broken rice and wheat flour to enhance acceptability (palatability) of poison bait. Rats under no-choice test (single feed) showed a preference for additive baits as opposed to plain bait. Under paired-choice test (two feed) bait with egg yolk and yeast were signigicantly preferred against reference bait (plain).
