Abstract

The Ar i+ ion yields upon the decay of the Ar1 s −14 p state are calculated in one-electron configuration-average approximation considering shake up, shake down and shake off processes as well as the ejection of electrons in inter-multiplet Auger transitions. Our calculation underestimates the production of the higher-charged ions which may indicate limitations of the one-electron approximation, and of the step-by-step cascade model.
