Abstract

There has been a tremendous growth in the nuclear medicine procedures for evaluation of pediatric diseases in the last few decades. These diagnostic procedures are well suited for the evaluation of pediatric patients because these are simple, rapid, highly sensitive, non-invasive, non-toxic and provide qualitative and quantitative information often unavailable from other modalities. In the present review, we describe the role of various nuclear medicine techniques in diagnosis of several diseases that occur in infants.
