Abstract

Objective To evaluate the role of MRV in the preoperative evaluation of parasagittalmeningioma. Methods All patients, which diagnosised with parasagittal meningioma by routine MRexamination and enhanced scan, were examined preoperatively with MRV and DSA. The visualization of sites, the degree of venous infiltration, and collateral venous anastomoses in parasagittal meningiomas invading the sagittal sinuses were recorded respectively. Then the data were analyzed. Results For the visualization of the sites of all parasagittal meningiomas invading the sagittal sinuses, MRV was in accordance with that of DSA and operative findings ; For the visualization of the degree of venous which not occlusion, the MRV sensitivity was 87.0% with a specificity of 66.7%,consistency rate was82.8%.For the rate of the visualization of collateral venous anastomoses in parasagittal meningiomas invading the sagittal sinuses, the MRV sensitivity was 25% with a specificity of 76.9%, consistency rate was 48.3%.Conclusions MRV may provide the useful information for the demonstrate in the visualization of sites, the degree of venous infiltration in parasagittal meningiomas and making the operation scheme in the patients with parasagittal meningiomas.
