Abstract
Previously we demonstrated that P2x receptors in the nucleus tractus solitarius (NTS) mediate muscle vasodilation induced by electrical stimulation of the hypothalamic defense area (HDA). In the present study we sought to determine the role of P2x and glutamatergic receptors located in the rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM) in cardiovascular responses induced by HDA stimulation.
