Perianal stulas are a common problem encountered in proctology. They are dened as abnormal communications between the anal canal or rectum and the perianal skin. The incidence of perianal stulas has been estimated to be around 1 in 10,000 people. There are many different types of perianal stulas, including simple and complexstulas1. Simple stulas can usually be treated with conservative measures, while complex stulas require more aggressive treatment.
