Abstract
The purpose of this study is to access the role of Information and Communication Technology in Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) of J & K State. The objective of installation of ICT in SMEs is to overcome the disadvantage of the traditional system, because ICT had a great impact on all the aspects of life. Today’s life is nothing without the concept of ICT it had spread all over the world and had a significant impact on our lives. Change is the essential factor in the world of business where there is no change there is no profit. Modern businesses are not possible without the help of ICT, change is the critical factor for growth of economies in general. It is encouraging the development of SME and the role that SME sector can play in promoting economic and social development by creating opportunities for employment. So, ICT installation is very important and helps in several ways, and it provides a lot of benefits whether it is installed in J & K or any other state of India.
