ROLE OF IMAGING IN STATUS EPILEPTICUSA PROSPECTIVE OBSERVATIONAL STUDY IN A TERTIARY HOSPITAL

Abstract

Status epilepticus is a condition that can have long term consequences including neuronal death, neuronal injury and alteration of neuronal networks depending on the type and duration of seizures. It can occur in all age groups. Hence it is important to understand the underlying cause of status epilepticus which helps in appropriate treatment. Our prospective observational study emphasizes on imaging, causative actors associated with convulsive status epilepticus and usefulness of doing MRI over CT in emergency situations like status epilepticus.
