Abstract
High sensitivity of guard cells to DBM1B (10 -7 M) and relatively lower response to diuron suggest that energy harnessed via cyclic electron transport may be contributing, a great deal, in meeting, the energy requirements of stomatal movement in light. The effect of ammonium chloride, an uncoupler of photophosphorylation on stomatal opening also supports this. The sensitivity of guard cells to ammonium chloride is p H dependent.
