Abstract

Background: Pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) is one of the most challenging abdominal operations. With advancement in technology, robotic pancreatoduodenectomy (RPD) has gained interest from pancreatic surgeons as this offers higher magnification, superior sharp dissection and advantage of performing precise hand sewn anastomosis. The safety, efficacy, and learning curve for RPD has been reported. This study aims to report outcomes and discuss challenges of RPD in the early practice of a fellowship trained surgeon.
