Abstract
A previous pilot study showed the presence of allergen-specific IgE in the surface of peripheral basophils in 50% of subjects with confirmed local allergic rhinitis (LAR). However, this phenomenon was investigated in a small number of patients. The aim of this study is confirming the presence of specific allergen activation of basophils, by means of basophil activation test (BAT) in a large population of LAR subjects sensitized to D. pteronyssinus (DP).
