Abstract

The article aims at presenting the role of the electoral commissioner in proceedings regarding electoral protest in Polish local government elections. According to the Polish Electoral Code, the electoral commissioner, together with the chairmen of the appropriate commission, acts as a legal participant in this proceedings. In the first part of the paper, the relationship between the legal posi-ion of the commissioner and the specificity of the protest proceeding is addressed. The second part of the article refers to the participation of the commissioner in this procedure and discusses the special reasons for including him in this role.
