Abstract

Control charts are the most significant statistical process control tools for ensuring industrial process reliability and efficiency. This research uses moving average – exponentially weighted moving average (MA-EWMA) control charts to investigate the dispersion characteristics. The control chart performance compares the arithmetic mean of run length (AMRL) and standard deviation of run length (SDRL) profiles of MA-EWMA and synthetic charts. Student's t-distributions are compared for dispersion processes. Finally, we present a case to show how essential control charts are in practice.
