Abstract

New methods for time delay and frequency delay estimation are introduced based on the theory of alpha-stable distributions. It is shown that these methods are robust for both Gaussian and non-Gaussian impulsive noise environments. Their improved performance is clearly demonstrated with both computer generated data and actual radar clutter data.
