Abstract
Superhydrophobic surface has been applied for corrosion resistance and yield many innovations. However, most of the superhydrophobic surfaces are fragile and would lose its superhydrophobicity after abrasion. Herein, by using a micro-nano nickle coating as template, a super robust bi-layer superhydrophobic coating was fabricated via a facile method. This coating exhibited a large micro hardness and still showed superhydrophobicity even after abrasion for more than 100 cycles, which demonstrated a robust mechanical stability. Besides, it can repel harsh acid and alkali such as HCl, HNO3 and NaOH. More fundamentally, the corrosion current density of this coating is lower to 2.525 × 10−8 A/cm2, revealed a superior corrosion resistance. This method should be of great importance for guiding the fabrication of super hyrophobic surface for practical applications such as anti-icing, self-cleaning and anti-fouling.
