Abstract

In this paper, we propose a downlink chance constrained resource allocation and base station (BS) selection algorithm for heterogeneous traffic in power domain nonorthogonal multiple access (PD- NOMA) based heterogeneous cellular networks. We maximize the weighted sum rate of the elastic users considering channel state information uncertainty, while protecting the streaming users rate and satisfying the subcarrier, BS, transmit power limitations and successive interference cancellation constraints. We formulate the considered problem into a chance constrained program. In order to tackle the intractability of the optimum problem coming from the chance constraints, we utilize the sample approximation method which convert them into limited multiple simple constraints. Simulation results show that the systems based on PD-NOMA technique outperforms that based on orthogonal multiple access systems.
