Abstract

In this paper, a new multichannel colour image watermarking, with colour watermark, using lifting wavelet transform LWT and singular value decomposition SVD is proposed for authentication in multimedia applications. Watermark is separated into RGB channels and scaled. LL band is decomposed from original image using LWT and separated into RGB channels. Singular value decomposition is operated on each channel and a scaled watermark is embedded in it. Use of LWT lends the advantages of real time applications, reduces computational complexity by 50% on account of employing split and merges instead of using down and up sampling process. Secondly, use of SVD lends non-invertible property to the watermarking so that fake watermarked image cannot be generated. This algorithm is spread spectrum and semi blind. Experimental results and analysis show that proposed algorithm is robust against benchmark StirMark4.0 standard attacks and trustworthy in establishing the ownership.
