Abstract

The minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR) beamformer is very sensitive to steering vector (SV) mismatch. To suppress the sidelobe for interference nulling and improve robustness when SV mismatch occurs, we propose a novel robust adaptive beamforming (RAB) technique with controlled sidelobe and high stability. We use an iterative method to correct SV error so that robustness can be guaranteed. Meanwhile, in order to control sidelobe, several inequality constraints are added to original MVDR. Simulation results show that proposed iterative method has a significant performance improvement in robustness and the controlled sidelobe.
