Abstract

In this paper, an adaptive robust fuzzy controller is first proposed to enhance transient stability for power systems. An adaptive robust fuzzy systems approach to state feedback input/output linearizing controller is outlined. The analysis is based on a general nonlinear system, with uncertainties satisfying the matching conditions. The adaptive fuzzy system is incorporated into the control system as an outer feedback loop to increase the robustness of the i/o linearizing controller. The adaptive fuzzy system is also intended to add intelligence with the conventional i/o linearizing controller. The design of the resulting controller is independent of the operating points. Simulation results of a three-machines system show that transient stability of a power system can be improved under a large sudden fault.
