Abstract

Direct teleoperation of a rover on the moon has proven to be feasible but very demanding in telemetry data rate. Several modes are proposed to control the rover with lower communication data rates and the necessary equipments to operate the vehicle in these modes are identified. The impact of the equipment's mass and consumption on the minimal size of a rover is discussed for several applications.
