Abstract

In robotized assembly, various deadlocks and interruptions often occur which decrease availability and productivity, resulting in higher assembly costs. In an automated environment, the most frequently affected sensors are the vision modules, which are used for greater flexibility in object recognition and for grasping of parts. In this paper, a method of enhancement of robotized cells using a visual system is submitted. Discussed are different methods of camera attachment, along with integration of the vision system with a detailed camera calibration procedure. The paper concludes with results of the vision system and the robotized assembly cell testing.
