Abstract
Background: Minimally invasive liver resection for segment 7 & 8 liver tumor is technically challenging due to difficult visualization and access. Intraoperative blood loss, complications, and unplanned conversion rate are higher with these tumors when compared with ones located in the anterolateral segments. As a result, tumors in this location are mainly resected via an open approach. In this video, we describe our surgical technique of robotic anterior segment 7 & 8 resection for hepatocellular carcinoma with background liver cirrhosis.
